A directory can help you find a business, but women need more than listings
Finding a local service is useful. But sometimes what we are looking for is an answer, an idea, a place to start, a story that feels familiar or an opportunity to connect.
That is why Her Place is being built as more than a collection of business listings. It is designed to be a welcoming place where useful information and meaningful local connections can sit alongside one another.
A place to discover
Her Place brings together practical articles, local businesses, resources, events and opportunities. Some visits may begin with a very specific search: a service, an event or local support. Others may begin with a question you have not quite known where to ask.
The aim is to make useful next steps easier to find.
A place to connect
Connection can mean discovering a local woman-owned business, attending an event, reading somebody else’s experience or simply realising that another person has wrestled with a similar question.
Not every connection needs to be large or life-changing. Sometimes it begins with feeling a little less alone, a little more informed or more confident about where to start.
A place to grow
Growth does not always mean building a business or achieving something bigger. It can mean learning a practical skill, understanding yourself better, finding support, trying something new or making everyday life a little easier.
Her Place will continue to grow as more women, organisations, businesses, stories and resources become part of it. The goal is simple: when a woman arrives looking for something useful, there is a good chance she can find it — and perhaps discover something else she needed along the way.

Standard Her Place Note
Her Place shares practical information and lived-experience perspectives to help women discover, connect and grow. Where an article touches on health, legal, financial or other professional matters, seek qualified advice for your individual circumstances.
